About the role

The purpose of the role is to Lead, manage and represent – also as global category manager - the wire rod category globally and to develop, manage & execute the global wire rod category strategy and value agenda supporting the overall Bekaert and business unit’s strategies, in cooperation with the regional category managers, technical wire rod team and BU/plant representatives.

Furthermore, you will manage all activities related to global supply including contracts, commercial pricing, supply assurance, innovation, and conflict resolution and manage the global wire rod suppliers; understand regional / local needs and consolidate to a global level the Bekaert requirements to develop the best leverage to negotiations with global suppliers.

Your Impact as Vice President Procurement - Wire Rod

Sourcing Strategy Development

• Deploy the category strategy within the organization and establish a transparent follow-up and communication of the performance against the targets

• Report on regular basis on the progress of the key initiatives for the category in the PMO

Spend, Demand and Supply market analysis

• Develop and maintain the category spend analysis and savings reporting

• Assure cost drivers are identified and TCO initiatives are developed in close cooperation with the stakeholders.

• Analyze demand (business requirements incl. quantity, technical, …) of Bekaert globally within the category.

• Analyze historical and future business requirements of Bekaert globally within the category

• Oversee analysis and assure proactive reporting on the trends across the different regions in the Supply Market: industry landscape, market, and supplier landscape (incl. price developments), benchmarking, supplier passports, …

• Analyze the wire rod supply market and identify cross-plant, regional and global opportunities for leveraging purchasing.

Tendering, Supplier Selection and Contracting

• Participate in the implementation of the wire rod category strategy by coordinating with the team the tendering and negotiation process to meet short- and long-term cost/saving targets

• Steer the management of specifications for wire rod; make sure the specifications are clear and available in the system and assure communication to the suppliers

• Ensure security the supply at the most competitive cost

• Coordinate and resolve supply interruptions.

• Assure effectiveness and integrity of the master data is managed through the technical wire rod team with the Supplier Manager (CoE)

About You

Essential skills & competences

• Master’s degree in Procurement, Finance, Accounting, or related fields
• Strong commercial skills proven by a successful experience in procurement of a min.10 years
